English King. Ruling from 1399, he usurped the throne from Richard II to establish the Lancastrian dynasty. After military adventures on the Baltic crusade in 1390 and in Jerusalem in 1392, he was exiled by Richard II in 1398. A year later he returned and seized the throne, where he had Richard imprisoned, deposed and killed.
